Group Services: Hamilton/Niagara

The Group Services unit of Brain Injury Services and Step Up! ABI Recovery offers clients a variety of programming in Hamilton and Niagara and also works with other agencies to deliver similar services in other locales. You must be a registered client to participate through the Group Services unit. (To apply for services, click on the Apply For Services tab at the top of the page.) Group Services: Haldimand Abilities Centre

The Haldimand Abilities Centre is a partnership between our agency, the Alzheimer Society and the CNIB offering a variety of social, educational, recreational and peer support programming in Haldimand County. The centre provides activities geared to a variety of challenges, including brain injury. Activities are offered in Hagersville, Dunnville and Caledonia. Free, shared transportation is offered to programs for those who do not have access to transportation. To view activities, click on the calendar link below.

Hamilton Brain Injury Association

As a result of a joint initiative between the Hamilton Brain Injury Association (HBIA) and Brain Injury Services / Step Up! ABI Recovery, several activities sponsored by each organization are now open to the members and clients of both organizations. Activities highlighted in purple are sponsored by Brain Injury Services / Step Up! ABI Recovery and held at its location. All other activities are sponsored by HBIA and held at its location. Group Services also offers a program called BISHworks that provides different kinds of volunteer experiences to enhance self-esteem, recovery and friendships, while developing relevant job skills and giving back to the community. In community volunteering, a team of clients, accompanied by a staff member, volunteer weekly for community organizations.
